Check out the June edition of Country Living to read all about Marram Studio. Louise Elliot from Country Living visited my studio in Orkney last year and I've been so excited to see the article in print that I can't believe it's actually out! The start of 2011 has been very busy for Marram Studio as after a lot of careful consideration I’ve taken the plunge and moved our main workshop from Orkney down to Glasgow!
I spent several years living in Glasgow when I was studying at Glasgow School of Art and after 5 years back up in Orkney I decided that a move to Glasgow would be beneficial for Marram Studio due to the improved travel and delivery logistics for both retail and wholesale and access to wider networking and collaborative opportunities with other creative businesses in the area.
I’m still travelling back to Orkney regularly where I still have a small design base and Orkney's plants and environment continue to be one of my many sources of inspiration for my designs.
Unfortunately the move does mean that our studio shop in Orkney is now closed but if you’re visiting Orkney you can still find our products in several local boutiques and I'll be up again in August showing in the craft tent at the County Show (Sat 13th August). Also if you’re in Glasgow our workshop is open by appointment and of course our online store is always open!
Once I’ve had time to catch my breath I hoping to create some designs inspired by my new location.
Whilst we love connecting with our customers online it is great to get out of the studio and take Marram Studio on the road. Here's a growing list of upcoming events where you can come and see us live and in person:
